Industry Award Category Descriptions

Winners of the Industry Award Categories are determined by a panel of industry peers and active NAIOP Southern Nevada members and focuses heavily on your local NAIOP Southern Nevada involvement and company team members local involvement during the specific calendar year ONLY.
Submissions for all nominees should include the following elements for consideration:
- Company Information: Local company details, leadership, and primary focus.
- Adaption: Your company’s approach for successfully navigating challenges (examples: economic headwinds, community pushback, demographic, changing business climate, complex deal transactions or environmental conditions). Share specific recent challenges from the calendar year and how the company addressed the issues.
- Community Relations: Your company’s impact on the local market, which can include local community service, awards for service, local industry involvement, job growth, workforce recruitment/retention, advocacy, impact on community, mentorship programs, career development programs and more.
- Innovation: Your company’s innovation and forward-thinking approach to our industry and operations. Detail what sets you apart from other firms/teams in the categories. Detail strategies or initiatives in place for meeting the demands of the everchanging workforce, industry, technology, wellness goals, sustainability, internal adaptability to changes in work environments etc.
- NAIOP Involvement: Your local team or company’s engagement within BOTH NAIOP Southern Nevada & NAIOP National, including but not limited to participation in and support of local and national programs, active committee participation, board/forum involvement, volunteerism, and sponsorship contributions.
Developer of the Year:
This category award recognizes a developer whose development or development projects have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry. At least one executive of the Firm must be a current NAIOP member in good standing.
Architecture Firm of the Year:
This category award recognizes an Architecture Firm whose projects have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry. At least one executive of the Firm must be a current NAIOP member in good standing.
General Contracting Firm of the Year:
This category award recognizes a General Contracting Firm whose project or projects have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry. At least one executive of the Firm must be a current NAIOP member in good standing.
Engineering Firm of the Year:
This category award recognizes an Engineering Firm whose project or projects have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry. At least one executive of the Firm must be a current NAIOP member in good standing.
Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Firm of the Year:
This category award recognizes a Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Firm who have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry. At least one executive of the Firm/Division must be a current NAIOP member in good standing.
Financial Firm of the Year:
This category award recognizes a Financial Firm who have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry. At least one executive of the Firm/Division must be a current NAIOP member in good standing.
Commercial Property Management Firm of the Year:
This category award recognizes a Commercial Property Management Firm focused on third party property management who have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry. At least one executive of the Firm/Division must be a current NAIOP member in good standing.
Developing Leader of the Year:
This category recognizes a young commercial real estate professional who has distinguished themselves in their profession and within NAIOP. They also show promise as a future leader of the local commercial real estate industry and within the community. This award is designed for a NAIOP member who is 35 years old or younger as of 12/31/2024. Each applicant must be a current NAIOP member in good standing and previous Developing Leader winners are not eligible to apply. Winners will be selected based on the following criteria: leadership, professional competency, career goals, NAIOP participation & community involvement.
Commercial Broker(s) of the Year (Office, Industrial, and Retail):
This category award recognizes a Commercial Broker or Commercial Brokerage Team who have made significant contributions to the Southern Nevada real estate community over the last year in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. This award seeks to honor a special achievement worthy of garnering the respect of the industry.
All licensed brokers/agents of the team must be NAIOP current members in good standing & nominations must be made by the management of their brokerage firm.
